Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

The fourth installment of J.K. Rowling's children fantasy novels, Harry Potter, will be released world wide in movie form November 15th, 2005. Alfonso CuarĂ³n (director of the third movie) was offered the chance to direct Goblet of Fire, but declined as he would still be working on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Mike Newell took the job but decided against the studio's original idea of adapting the book into two separate films to be released several months apart. He figured that he could cut enough of the book's subplots in order to agree with the time restraints of one film. Mike Newell is the first British director of the series, and with Rowling's assistance, this film should be the most spectacular by far. With the smashing success of the sixth book which was released on July 16th 2005, the fourth movie will be sure to follow in its foot steps.

Basic Plot Synopsis: After spending the Quidditch World Cup with the Weasley family, Harry Potter arrives back at Hogwarts and finds himself entered in the Triwizard Tournament, a challenging competition featuring three dangerous tasks. Harry has to compete with three other wizards, Viktor Krum from Durmstrang, Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons, and Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts. Harry Potter's arch nemesis, Lord Voldemort, is regaining strength and has his own plans for the Triwizard Tournament. "Evil times lay ahead, Harry" is the catch phrase of the movie, which is quite accurate since Goblet of Fire is the darkest of the Harry Potter series.
